Description

Originally "inspired" by a suggestion from my independent study professor to paint something Egyptian. I've been looking at stacks of Egyptian books from the library while working on this image. Though I considered a very large number of Egyptian gods for inclusion, I finally settled on Sobek the crocodile god. The story is that his statue is coming to life behind the lady's back. She has just heard a frightening sound (perhaps he has made a polite comment about the weather) and will momentarily spin around to investigate.
